STARTING FROM THE START - DEBBIES

Initially a love song, turned into a farewell bromance song for beloved Debbies drummer Robbo.

This is definitely my favourite cover I have created purely due to how hands on the design process was. I had the idea of having some sort of Valentine colour scheme and love iconography without being too cliché, then I remembered the old conversation heart lollies that I used to package when I was a young teenager at our local lollie shop.

I went back to the shop, bought a packet of the love heart lollies and scanned them probably 100 times to get the right composition. When you know, you know. Then ran a few effects and filters over it to get the desired look. With some more scanned ripped paper and hand-scribbled font, the whole piece just came together and had a real nice layout.

The unintentional effect of the artwork looking like a torn out diary page or calendar added to the dramatic tone of the song which I think was a really nice touch.
