COMFORT ZONE - DEBBIES

The first song recorded and released by the kings of Jervis Bay. This was also the first cover I had designed!
I went to school with Noah and Robbo, although they were a few years below me, I had always loved what they were making and doing and they loved my art. Losers in my year group gave them a hard time because they would jam at lunch time in the playground (mostly to impress the girls, but also because they loved it) but I thought it was so sick! We didn’t have much to do with each other at school but would run into each other at music festivals as we liked the same bands and would watch the sets together.
One night I threw a party in my granny flat where I had Surf Trash and Milky Thred playing (both of which I also designed record covers for) and invited Noah and Robbo along because I thought they would like it. Noah then showed me a recording he had on his phone of what was later on Comfort Zone. I didn’t believe it was him singing because the schoolyard gigs were super rough, but the recording was red-hot! A few days later he then text me saying that they were planning on releasing it as their first single and need a cover. He sent me the song and the photo of him and Robbo on the swing and said “Just do something cool with it, we love your style!” in which I came up with the daisy background which was an excerpt from the opening line.
For being totally new to Photoshop, Illustrator and album cover art, I put the below cover together and sent it over. They were stoked and we’ve worked together ever since.
