DAY 5 / 30 - 30 Day Album Cover Challenge

SUNSHINE CORNER - The Moving Stills

I was hooked on The Moving Stills from the first time I saw them. I watched them in a small art gallery in Wollongong, only having heard one or two of their songs prior to the show. From the very start I was blown away by what I saw; a band that was so confident in their own style and ability that from the very first beat they locked eyes with your soul and you couldn’t look away. Strap in.

Riddled with salt and coastal style, their nostalgic indie-rock transports you back a few decades to button-up shirts, rusted vans and single-fins. Chatting with the band after the show, they are the most down to earth and genuine guys you could ever meet. I think I saw them play 5 or 6 more times that year, the next gig being the following week hahaha.

While the stages and crowds get bigger, the songs become more anthemic and sets tighter, The Moving Stills will always be one of Australia’s most humble acts. Sunshine Corner was their first full-length album released in 2022 after a plethora of killer singles. You have to wrap your ears around their 2023 album, Wabi Sabi and their latest EP, Half Moon Bay for which their tour kicks off August 15th. You’ll be hooked!
